Lost for Words: Hugh Grant drops out of romantic comedy

Hugh Grant has dropped out of the Universal Pictures romantic comedy Lost for Words, due to creative differences.

Grant had agreed last June to play a British thesp approached to star in a film by a Chinese director. After a flirtation with her translator, the actor falls for the director. Ziyi Zhang will still play the director.

Susanne Bier is directing the Working Title production, from a screenplay by Jamie Curtis and Dan Mazer.

Grant has had hits with previous Working Title romantic comedies, such as "Love Actually", "Notting Hill" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral", but this one didn't work out and the actor officially withdrew late last week.
