The Forever War: Ridley Scott to direct sci-fi again
Ridley Scott will return to science-fiction with The Forever War, based on Joe Haldeman's 1974 novel, which Fox 2000 acquired rights to.

Scott had intended to follow his early sci-fi classics, "Alien" and "Blade Runner", with this project, but rights complications delayed his plans for more than two decades.

The story revolves around a soldier who battles an enemy in deep space for only a few months, only to return home to a planet he doesn't recognize some 20 years later.

Scott Free Productions will produce and are looking to hire a writer immediately.
