Jason Bateman and Nicole Kidman to star in The Family Fang
After making his directorial feature debut with "Bad Words", Jason Bateman will next direct Nicole Kidman in "The Family Fang".
Based on the novel by Kevin Wilson, the story follows a couple of performance artists who routinely suck their kids into taking part in a variety of bizarre events. When the full-grown children return home in a state of crisis, they are unwittingly enlisted to help in the execution of a daring and mysterious final performance by their parents, who are hellbent on achieving the act of a lifetime. Kidman and Bateman will play the parents.
The screenplay has been written by David Lindsay-Abaire, who previously worked on a Kidman project when he adapted his own play in the "Rabbit Hole".
Filming will take place next year.
