About the film:
Tom Ludlow, a maverick cop who seldom hesitates to use deadly force, is caught in an apparently compromising situation when a reformist cop who was his sworn enemy winds up dead. In the ensuing confusion, Ludlow agrees to participate in a cover-up spearheaded by his old friend Lt. Wander. But Ludlow is constitutionally unable to let the real cop killers go free, even though catching them might mean his own disgrace and destruction. He teams with eager young Detective Paul Diskant to unravel the mystery, but their investigation is rattling a lot of nerves in very high places and could prove hazardous to their health.
