- The Weinstein Co. is close to making a deal for the U.S. distribution rights to "The Wettest County in the World", the drama that John Hillcoat is directing.
The film, based on a true story, revolves around a moonshine gang operating in the bootlegging capital of America, Franklin County, Va., during Prohibition.
The cast includes Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Jason Clarke.
