The Partner: the latest John Grisham adaptation Tue September 30, 2008 Return to Film News According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Ann Peacock (Nights in Rodanthe) has signed on to write The Partner, the latest adaptation of a John Grisham novel. The story centers on a disillusioned lawyer who steals $90 million from his law firm, stages his own death and successfully disappears for several years. What at first seems to be a brilliant white-collar crime is further complicated by a murder charge. Peacock has previously written "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" and was a co-writer on "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
