Sherlock Holmes: Jude Law in talks for Watson

Film-Releases has learned that Jude Law is in negotiations for the role of Watson in Warner Brothers' Sherlock Holmes. While there have been numerous actors linked to this part in recent weeks, Law is considered to be the current top choice.

The film, which will see Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, is one of two rival projects being developed simultaneously by different studios. The second project, set up at Columbia, has Will Ferrell starring as Watson, with Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes.

A production start for the Guy Ritchie/Warner Bros movie is scheduled for this Fall.
