Defiance: to have its world premiere at the closing night of the AFI Fest Wed September 17, 2008 Return to Film News Variety reports that Edward Zwick's World War II drama, Defiance, will have its world premiere on November 9, as the closing night film at the AFI FEST. This will mark Zwick's second appearance at AFI FEST, having previewed scenes and discussed his work on BLOOD DIAMOND, prior to the film's opening in 2006. Set for release in December, Zwick's "Defiance" is based on the true story of three brothers who form a resistance against the Nazis. The event will be hosted by Audi of America and will take place at the ArcLight Hollywood's Cinerama Dome Theater. Source: Variety Related Titles: Defiance
