Northline: Courtney Hunt to write and direct Wed September 10, 2008 Return to Film News Courtney Hunt, writer-director of "Frozen River", will next direct her own adaptation of Northline, a novel by Willy Vlautin. The story follows a woman who flees Las Vegas and a troubled life with her boyfriend for a new start in Reno, Nevada. She also begins to seek comfort through imaginary conversations with Paul Newman. Hunt said that although she and Vlautin sent a copy of the book to Newman, she hasn't determined how literally to render that plot element. Source: The Hollywood Reporter Related Titles: Northline
