Leaves of Grass: Susan Sarandon and Richard Dreyfuss join the cast

Susan Sarandon and Richard Dreyfuss have joined Edward Norton in the cast of Leaves of Grass, a comedic thriller, written and to be directed by Tim Blake Nelson.

The film follows identical twin brothers (played by Norton), one an Ivy League classics professor and the other a pot-smoking career criminal. The professor is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown for a doomed scheme against a local drug lord (Dreyfuss) that unravels his life.

Sarandon plays the brothers' eccentric mother, while Keri Russell in still in negotiations to join the cast as a love interest to Norton's character.

Lucy DeVito, Rhea Perlman, and country singer Steve Earle are also in the cast. The film is scheduled to begin shooting September 22 in Shreveport, La, with a budget of $9.5 million to $14 million.
