Echelon: Hyde Park buys rights to the spy series
- Hyde Park has acquired the rights to the espionage novels by Andy McNab.
- The first film will be based on "Firewall", the third novel in the series, which follows soldier of fortune Nick Stone who, paired with a street-smart female cryptographer, is hired to infiltrate a computer facility poised to breach a secret global surveillance system.
- Andy McNab and John Connor have written the screenplay.
- Producer Harvey Weinstein had previously acquired the rights in July 2001 and tried for years to get the project off the ground, bue eventually let the rights lapse.
W.E.: Abbie Cornish to co-star in the biopic
- Abbie Cornish is set to co-star in the biopic "W.E.", that Madonna is directing
- The story centers on the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson that led to the Brit royal abdicating the throne to marry his divorcee lover.

- Ivan Reitman will direct an untitled romantic comedy, previously called "Friends with Benefits", for Paramount Pictures
- Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher will play two people who try to keep their relationship strictly physical, but it's not long before they learn that they want something more.
- Elizabeth Meriwether has written the screenplay, which had appeared on the 2008 Black List with the title "Fuckbuddies".
- Filming is set to start in May for a planned release on January 7, 2011.

- Bedrock Studios is developing a big screen adaptation of the children's book "Dinosaur Bob".
- The story is based on the William Joyce novel which follows a dinosaur and his adventures with a family.
A Wrinkle in Time: New Family Adventure
- Bedrock Studios is developing a big screen adaptation of "A Wrinkle in Time".
- The story is based on the novel by Madeleine L'Engle and follows three kids as theygo on a journey to rescue their father and save the world.
Turkeys: Wilson and Harrelson to voice the birds
- Newly-launched Bedrock Studios is developing the animated family comedy "Turkeys".
- The story follows two turkeys who discover a time machine and travel back to the first Thanksgiving to take themselves off the menu.
- Ash Brannon ("Toy Story 2") will direct.
- John J. Strauss ("The Santa Clause 3") has written the screenplay and will produce.
- Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson will voice the two turkeys.
- Luke Wilson will also voice a character.
- The film is currently planned for a 2011 release.
The Pioneer Woman: Columbia to develop and Witherspoon to potentially star
- Columbia pictures has acquired rights to develop "The Pioneer Woman", a romantic comedy about a woman who met the cowboy of her dreams and transformed from spoiled city girl to domestic ranch wife.
- Reese Witherspoon will potentially star.
- Laura Ziskin and Pam Williams will produce.
Puncture: Chris Evans to star
- Chris Evans has signed on to star in the legal drama "Puncture".
- He will play a drug-addicted young attorney who must come to terms with his own demons when taking on a healthcare giant.

Fright Night: Craig Gillespie to direct the remake

- The original film followd a teen who finds out his neighbor is a vampire.
Conan: Six actors join the cast
- Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Rachel Nichols, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Leo Howard have joined the cast of "Conan".
- The film started production this week in Bulgaria.
- Lang will play a sadistic warlord, McGowan will protray an evil half-human/half-witch, Howard will appear as young Conan, and Perlman will play Conan's father.
Untitled Paul Thomas Anderson Project: River Road to develop Jeremy Renner in talks
- River Road will develop the period drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
- Philip Seymour Hoffman will star as a charismatic intellectual who in the 1950s became the leader of a start-up religion that took off like wildfire.
- Jeremy Renner is in talks to play the role of his right hand man who begins to question his mentor and the whole belief thing.
Vamps: Sigourney Weaver joins the cast
- Sigourney Weaver has joined the cast of "Vamps", a romantic horror comedy about two young vampires who are living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality.
- She will play Ciccerus, the vampire who turned the two girls.
- Amy Heckerling (Clueless),who also wrote the script, will be directing.
- Filming is scheduled to start late April 2010.
Butter: Jim Fields Smith to direct, The Weinstein Co. to distribute
- The Weinstein Co. will distribute "Butter", which will star Jennifer Ganer.
- Jim Fields Smith is set to direct the comedy.
- Filming is scheduled to start in April 2010 in Louisiana.
The Cold Light of Day: Mabrouk El Mechri to direct
- Mabrouk El Mechri ("JCVD") has signed on to direct the thriller "The Cold Light of Day".

- He will play Hugh Jackman's long-lost son, who joins him in training a robot for the upcoming Real Steel World Championship.
