Everybody Loves Whales: Danson and Shaw join the cast
- Ted Danson and Vinessa Shaw have joined the cast of "Everybody Loves Whales" that Ken Kwapis is directing for Universal.
The film will tell the true story of a small-town reporter and a Greenpeace volunteer who enlist the help of rival superpowers to save three majestic gray whales trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle.
- Danson is set to portray a win-at-all-costs oilman who has no interest in saving the mammals.
- Shaw will play a White House staffer who wants the government to help the whales.
Everybody Loves Whales: Kristen Bell to co-star
- Kirsten Bell is in talks to join the cast of "Everybody Loves Whales", which will star Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski as a Greenpeace volunteer and a small-town news reporter who enlist the help of rival superpowers to save three majestic gray whales trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle.
- Bell is set to portray a reporter from Los Angeles aiming for the big time who thinks her greatest assets are her looks.
Whales: John Krasinski joins the cast
- John Krasinski joins Drew Barrymore in the family adventure "Whales".
- The film will be directed by Ken Kwapis and is based on a true story about the 1988 rescue of a trio of California gray whales that got trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle.
- A small town newspaper reporter who breaks the story (Krasinski) and a Greenpeace activist (Barrymore) turn the potential tragedy into an international story.
