- Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski ("Ed Wood") will write the adaptation of "The Addams Family".
Tim Burton will direct the stop-motion animated film.
He will also produce along with Chris Meledandri for Universal Pictures.

- Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland) will direct a 3D stop-motion animated adaptation of "The Addams Family".
- Illumination Entertainment acquired the rights to the Addams drawings and Chris Meledandri will be producing.
- The film will be inspired by Charles Addams' original Addams Family illustrations, which were a staple of The New Yorker magazine, and not by the Addams Family TV show, the two animated series or the movies from the nineties.
