The Irishman: Al Pacino and Joe Pesci join the cast

  • Al Pacino and Joe Pesci have joined Robert De Niro in the mob drama "The Irishman".

    Martin Scorsese is directing a script by Steven Zaillian.

    De Niro is also producing with Jane Rosenthal through their Tribeca Productions banner.

    Based on the book "I Heard You Paint Houses" the film is about the exploits of mob hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran.

I Heard You Paint Houses: Scorsese to reunite with De Niro in mob drama
Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro will reunite for the Paramount Pictures mob drama I Heard You Paint Houses, an adaptation of the Charles Brandt book about Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran.

Steven Zaillian, who has previously worked with Scorsese on Gangs of New York, has signed on to adapt the book, about the mob assassin who is reputed to have carried out more than 25 mob murders and who many believe was involved in the death of Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa.
