Subject: The Human Factor.
The Production team,as a writer/ arranger/ producer I have had the opportunity to produce 2 tracks which were given to Mandela for his birthay.
I spoke to Sylvia at Malpaso some months back to see if the producers would be interested in hearing them, and if they may resonate with the movie concept.At that stage she said it was way too early in the process- but wondered if you may be interested now?
track 1: Going home to meet the king 7min30 (filmscore format)inspired by a letter Madiba wrote my mother while in Pollsmoor prison in 1983)
track 2: Nelson (the Island) 4mins an original song made fomous at politacal ralles from late 70's- mid 80's by a struggle band called "Raak Wys'( be aware) for which i was commissioned to write a new bridge and produce.The project has an extensive history of the band with pics and text.
Both songs have been given to Madiba and capture some essential South African music genre/texture.thanks Nick
