Subject: Movie Script: The Promise, (Conquest of Mexico)
Dear Mr. Howard:
I am a Professor of History. I have also been a great fan of yours since watching you on Mayberry. The story of the Conquest of Mexico is fascinating. I have written a script and attempted to stay true to the actual event. Both Cortes and La Malinche, a.k.a Dona Marina or Malinalli, share in the honor or shame of this epic adventure. I have visited both VeraCruz and Mexico City.
I believe that YOU would do this magnificent story the justice it deserves.
Please contact me thru e-mail or on FaceBook. If you do not, please continue making those great movies for all to see.

I just hope the movie is historically correct. William Prescott's "The Conquest of Mexico" would be a good objective guide. The movie would actually need to be a Trilogy. The heroic deeds done by both the Aztecs and the Allies should not be discounted.

Dear Mr Howard,
My name is Fanny Del Rio and I am a published Random House author. My first novel “The True Story Of Malinche, ” was originally written in Spanish under the title “La Verdadera Historia De Malinche” has been launched in Uruguay in April, 2009 and will be published by Random House Mondadori in Mexico September 23 of this year.
It is the story of Marina, the woman mistakenly known in Mexican history as “La Malinche.” Almost immediately upon release, the novel was one of the top 10 sellers in Uruguay and it is sure to see great success in Mexico as well.
The novel has been translated professionally into English and the manuscript is available to be sent to you upon your request.
With this said, may I send you the manuscript or the appropriate number of chapters that you might require in order to have an overview of the story? I am also happy to furnish you with a more in-depth biography of my background, along with contact information of my publishers at Random House Mondadori.
Please do read my book before you start filming your film: I can assure you you will be surprised by the discoveries I made.

my name is Michaela and I am currently writing my thesis on La Malinche mainly focusing on her new renditions in Chicana Literature seeing her as a strong interpreter. However I am also interested in her Latin American perception.
I was wondering if it is possible to get a hold on your book as it sounds extremely interesting. I would love to see how you interpret her. However, I tried to get hold of it here in Austria but as it is going to be published in Mexico in September I suppose it will take much longer here in Austria. Possibly it is a quite unusual request to ask ... I will do it anyways Would you mind also sending me your text, it would be of really great help...( I also read in Spanish )
In every case thank you very much. I am looking forward to reading your book, as well as I am curious about the movie "The Serpent and the Eagle"...I wonder how it will depict La Malinche.

Dear Mr. Howard,
I am currently writing my thesis about the "Renditions of La Malinche" and I just came accross your movie... I was wondering when the movie will be released and if it would be possible to get hold of the work asap because that would be an unbelievable opportunity ... I would really love to integrate your movie in my thesis, i have the feeling that it would suit my argument pretty well!
